The Pittsburgh Steelers have acquired former Baltimore Ravens outside linebacker Jeremiah Moon through waivers, as per the NFL’s transaction wire. Moon’s official inclusion in the Steelers’ roster is scheduled after the Super Bowl. Initially joining the Ravens as an undrafted free agent last spring, Moon underwent preseason with Baltimore but was later released. Despite being part of their practice squad, he did not see any action during his rookie season.
Moon then secured a reserve/future deal with the Ravens in the summer and spent the 2023 season on their practice squad before earning a spot on the 53-man roster, participating in four games, including one start on defense and special teams. Throughout the season, he amassed 12 tackles, one tackle for loss, and two forced fumbles. As he heads to Pittsburgh, Moon, a Florida alum, will have the opportunity to compete for a roster spot during the upcoming summer.
The Steelers’ current roster includes outside linebackers T.J. Watt, Alex Highsmith, and Nick Herbig, with Markus Golden poised for free agency. Additionally, the Steelers are actively exploring options for their offensive coordinator position, considering candidates like Arthur Smith and monitoring potential losses among OC candidates.
