Alan Hutton is concerned that big teams will continue to try to sign Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez as he maintains his strong form for club and country.
Martinez, 31, broke the record for the most consecutive clean sheets for Argentina during the international break, with the last goal he conceded coming against France in the World Cup final in December, according to Fabrizio Romano.
After his incredible performances at the World Cup in Qatar, he was also strongly linked with a move away from Villa Park [TyC Sports].
Despite a quieter start to the season, Hutton is concerned that Martinez is still attracting interest from other teams.
The former right-back believes the ex-Arsenal shot-stopper will consider his options, while admitting Villa may decide to cash in if an acceptable offer is made.
“He’s the big one,” Hutton said, according to Villa News.
.”Some of his saves have been incredible, and there are times when he just looks massive in goal and you can’t score.” He plays a significant role in Aston Villa’s current position.
