Ohio football’s Weaver named MAC Male Scholar Athlete of the Week

CLEVELAND – Ohio football redshirt junior defensive end Bradley Weaver was named the Mid-American Conference Male Scholar Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday.
Weaver, a Physical Activity and Sport Coaching major with a 3.194 GPA, led the Ohio football team to its first MAC Championship since 1968 last weekend in the Bobcats’ 38-3 victory over Miami. Weaver helped lead the Ohio defensive unit that held Miami to three points and only 189 yards of total offense and became the first defensive unit to hold a team to no touchdowns in the championship game in the history of the MAC Championship game.

Weaver finished the game with three total tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss for four total yards and recorded three quarterback hurries. Weaver was named the MAC Championship Defensive Player of the Game for his efforts following the victory.
