Ohio State football prepares for its bowl game on Friday without its best player, Marvin Harrison Jr.
Ohio State football will try to win its 12th game of the season against the Missouri Tigers in the Cotton Bowl on Friday. They may be doing so in the absence of star wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., who did not practice on Tuesday despite being present and wearing his jersey.
During practice, Harrison was working off to the side and riding an exercise bike. With only three days until Ohio State’s season finale, he may not be able to join the Buckeyes on the field.
Harrison had a standout junior season for the Buckeyes in what will most likely be his final year at Ohio State. He scored a touchdown in all but two games and finished with 14 total touchdowns and 1,211 receiving yards. He surpassed 100 yards in eight games in 2023, up from seven the previous year.
There is a lot of speculation about whether Harrison will run back for Ohio State or declare for the NFL Draft. If he enters the draft next year, he is unlikely to be selected outside of the top five, but he can achieve college football greatness with another season at Ohio State.
Harrison doesn’t have much time to make a decision, and it would be prudent at this point for Harrison to sit out the game on Friday and end his Ohio State football career. Why would he jeopardize his chances of being a top-five pick for another season in college?
