Jonathan Rowe, Norwich City’s leading scorer, says he is “focused on his football” and is not concerned about his future.
Rowe has reportedly been linked with a move to the Premier League after scoring 12 goals this season, including a brace in a 2-2 draw with Ipswich.
The 20-year-old’s current contract expires in July 2025, with the club having the option of extending it for another year.
“I’m not trying to let all that noise affect my football,” he explained to BBC Radio Norfolk.
“We’ll review it in the summer, but for now, I’ll knuckle down, focusing on trying to get us back to the Premier League.”
Norwich City fans are used to star players being sold, with Max Aarons (Bournemouth) and Andrew Omobamidele (Nottingham Forest) both leaving for large sums of money in the summer.
Rowe’s blistering start to the season, which saw him score in five consecutive games and earn a call up to England’s Under-21 squad, had supporters worried about a January departure.
However, head coach David Wagner attempted to allay those fears.
“With two and a half years left on his contract, we have complete control.” “Jonny is pleased with his contract, and we are pleased with his performance,” he said.
Ben Knapper, the club’s newly appointed sporting director, will be in charge of negotiations, whether it’s for a new contract or a big money move away from Carrow Road.
