Norman Bassette, a young striker from Caen in the French second division, becomes Coventry City’s sixth summer transfer window addition.
The 19-year-old Bassette agreed to a four-year contract for an unknown sum.
“Norman, who is only 19 years old, exudes confidence, and we are excited to collaborate with him,” stated Mark Robins, the manager of Sky Blues.
“He’s a young player with solid background knowledge. He possesses a great deal of potential and many excellent qualities.”
Having joined Caen for his first professional contract in 2021, Bassette has competed for Belgium at the Under-18, Under-19, and Under-20 levels.
In September 2021, he made his professional debut. The next season, he scored his first goal for Caen in Ligue 2.
During a season-long loan with Belgian first division team KV Mechelen in 2023–24, Bassette scored five goals in 22 games.
