Newcastle United have already tabled multiple bids to sign the 24-year-old, but the Eagles have rejected every offer so far. Their last bid was worth around £60 million plus £5 million in add-ons. However, Crystal Palace want over £70 million.

Eddie Howe’s group has begun considering other options even though they haven’t given up on Guehi just yet. One name on their want list is Axel Disasi of Chelsea. The Magpies only have two reliable center defenders on the squad due to injuries to Jamaal Lascelles and Sven Botman, and Eddie Howe is eager to add more talent and depth to the defense. It makes perfect sense that they are trying their hardest to sign the English international.

With things not going according to plan, Newcastle United feel the 26-year-old French international could be an ideal alternative. Disasi came to England last summer after establishing himself at AS Monaco. He played in 44 games for the Blues, and his contributions were undoubtedly felt. The French center back was a vital member of their first squad last season, despite his current injury. It will be intriguing to see if Chelsea is prepared to negotiate his exit as a result.
