Inter Miami CF acquired $250,000 in 2024 GAM and $50,000 in 2025 GAM, and selected four players in the MLS SuperDraft 2024 presented by adidas. The Club selected midfielder Yannick Bright from the University of New Hampshire (15th overall pick) and forward Ryan Carmichael from Hofstra University (24th overall pick) in the first round after trading its third overall pick. The team then selected forward Leo Afonso from the University of Virginia in the second round (32nd overall pick) and midfielder Pep Casas from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in the third round (61st overall pick).
Bright, who was born in Milan, Italy, had a standout senior year in 2023. This past season, the 22-year-old midfielder played and started in all 19 games for the Wildcats, recording two assists. He was named First Team All-America, America East All-Academic Team, and America East All-Conference First Team, as well as a Mac Hermann Trophy semifinalist and America East Midfielder of the Year. Bright appeared in 69 games during his four years at the University of New Hampshire, all of which he started, tallying three goals and two assists.
Meanwhile, Carmichael is coming off a strong season in what will be his senior year in 2023. This past season, the 22-year-old Northern Ireland native made 22 appearances, all of which were starts, and led Hofstra with 17 goals and five assists. Throughout his collegiate career, the forward appeared in 75 games for the university, scoring 46 goals and assisting on 18 occasions. In 2023, Carmichael was named to the Second Team United Soccer Coaches All-America, First Team United Coaches All-Atlantic Region, and First Team All-Coastal Athletic Association, among other honors.
Afonso, a Brazilian-American forward, is 22 years old and previously played for the Inter Miami CF Academy from 2019 to 2020. He is coming off a senior season in 2023 in which he scored five goals, three of which came in postseason matches, and assisted twice in just ten appearances for the Virginia Cavaliers despite missing nine games due to injury. Afonso appeared in 59 games during his collegiate career, scoring 22 goals and assisting on eight others.
Finally, after his collegiate career at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, third-round pick Casas was selected. The Barcelona-born midfielder, who recently completed his senior season, appeared in 33 games for the university team over two seasons, scoring twice and assisting twice.
