One of the Sooners’ most promising young offensive linemen has announced his next stop after entering the transfer portal last week.
Cayden Green, a former Oklahoma offensive lineman, announced his transfer to Missouri on Tuesday morning.
Green saw his first meaningful snaps in the Red River Rivalry, where he performed admirably against a talented defensive front. Green was a regular starter at left guard for OU after his strong performance against the Longhorns, displaying numerous impressive flashes throughout the season.
Green was rated as one of the top 100 players and top ten players at his position in the country coming out of high school. Green’s decision allows him to be closer to his hometown of Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
The former 4-star prospect, listed at 6-foot-5 and 316 pounds, was the highest-rated recruit Bill Bedenbaugh has ever landed, making his departure even more difficult for the Sooners.
Green began moving his belongings out of the OU dorms during a Sooners practice, according to former Oklahoma offensive lineman Gabe Ikard and others.
