After a late PSR scare at the end of June, the Tynesiders have had a wild start to the summer transfer season.

Even though they ultimately avoided losing points, they had to sell Elliot Anderson and Yankuba Minteh, two talented players.

Eddie Howe expressed his frustration at losing the two, but he was also relieved that his best players, despite having connections elsewhere, were still at St. James’ Park. Having said that, Newcastle is now focused on the future and has placed a bid for a dynamic attacker.

Over the transfer window, Newcastle has been strongly connected to a move for Barcelona’s Ferran Torres, an attacker, and it now seems they have formally shown their interest with a bid.

The Magpies have reportedly made a £25 million bid for Torres, but it’s unclear at this point if that will be sufficient to approve his sale, according to Fichajes.Newcastle United retains Fun88 as main shirt sponsor | Arab News

Barca intends to sign Nico Williams, a star player for Athletic Bilbao, for an estimated £47 million; therefore, they will probably need to raise money to make that transfer possible.

Although it hasn’t been verified, there were rumors earlier in the season that Torres opposed the idea of moving to Tyneside.

According to Manchester City News, Torres is a “world class” player who scored 11 goals and provided four assists in the previous campaign.

The 24-year-old played a variety of positions across the attacking line, demonstrating his great versatility.

Torres plays center forward as well as both flanks, so he would give Howe much-needed depth in a number of positions.
