Ohio State’s 2023-24 season has not gone as expected. While the Scarlet and Gray have had a recent revival, going 5-1 to finish the regular season under interim coach Jake Diebler in the last month, this club was projected to enter the Big Ten Tournament considerably higher than the No. 10 seed.

Despite the challenges, there have been some bright spots, particularly in the performances of a few of the players. On Tuesday afternoon, the Big Ten Conference unveiled its 2023-24 awards and all-conference teams. Ohio State point guard Bruce Thornton and Buckeye forward Jamison Battle were also honored. Thornton was voted third-team All-Big Ten by the conference’s media and received an honorable mention from the coaches. The coaches and media both awarded Battle an honorable mention All-Big Ten selection.

Purdue’s Zach Edey was selected Big Ten Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. Matt Painter of Purdue and Fred Hoiberg of Nebraska shared the Big Ten Coach of the Year honors.
