Mike Hart, a veteran Michigan official, will not return to Ann Arbor in 2024 as a member of Sherrone Moore’s administration.
According to Chris Balas of The Wolverine, the former Michigan running back turned coach is not expected to return to the Wolverines in 2024. The news was originally published on Friday afternoon, startling many of the team’s ardent supporters.
“BREAKING: Michigan running backs coach Mike Hart won’t return to U-M in 2024, per @Balas_Wolverine,” The Wolverine’s official X account tweeted.
Hart has been with the program as an assistant since 2021, and he even served as acting head coach for one game last season. As he departs from the Wolverines, he can do so with pride, having contributed to the Wolverines’ national championship.
We’ll see what comes next for Mike Hart, but it’s clear he’ll be revered in Ann Arbor today and in the future. It’s a surprise development, but Sherrone Moore now has the keys to the car, and we’ll see where he takes the program going forward.
Furthermore, Michigan had a makeover this offseason. Head coach Jim Harbaugh accepted an offer to become the head coach of the s Angeles ChargersLo. He brought several Michigan staffers with him, including defensive coordinator Jesse Minter.
Michigan’s personnel losses are simply the beginning of the team’s difficulties. The program had an event-record 18 athletes at the NFL Combine. In addition, eleven players have entered the transfer portal.
Despite the failures, Michigan’s new head coach, Sherrone Moore, is not afraid. In fact, he expects Michigan will recover, just as it has in previous years.
“We’re just going to work,” Moore stated during an appearance on the NFL Network. “We won’t say much. We’ll just let the outcomes speak for themselves on the field. Just keep going to work.
“We are a blue-collar program, so we will not open our mouths and talk. We’ll just get to work and demonstrate what we’re capable of when September rolls around.”
Unfortunately, time will tell whether Jesse Minter can pull Michigan together, but the pressure will be on him from the start in Ann Arbor.
