Manager of Coventry City Mark Robins referred to supporters of Sheffield Wednesday who jeered Kasey Palmer as “absolute clowns” following the clubs’ FA Cup fourth-round draw at Hillsborough.

After Coventry’s 2-1 Championship victory against the Owls last Saturday, a man has been detained on suspicion of racial abuse of the Sky Blues midfield player.

A few jeers broke out from the crowd’s cheers as Coventry players took a knee before kickoff as a show of solidarity against racism. During the game, several Wednesday fans also booed Palmer.

Sky Blues manager Robins told BBC CWR that “the reaction was a disgrace.”

“People should examine themselves. What are they doing? It’s absurd and a complete farce….
