Tennessee’s right guard, Javontez Spraggins, is set to return for the upcoming season with the Vols. Having started 11 games in 2023, he showcased strong performance, allowing only two sacks in 699 offensive snaps. Unfortunately, Spraggins faced a season-ending injury against Georgia on Nov. 18. Over his career, he has participated in 45 games, securing 37 starts, with the majority (35) at the right guard position.
Known by the nickname “Zookeeper” for his tradition of bringing stuffed animals onto the field after a victorious game, Spraggins will play a crucial role in the offensive line, tasked with protecting quarterback Nico Iamaleava in the upcoming season. Joining him in the front line are returning players Cooper Mays, John Campbell Jr., and Dayne Davis, along with the valuable transfer Zalance Heard from LSU.
