Raiders predicted to hire OC from elite team if Antonio Pierce gets fired

The Las Vegas Raiders have been atrocious in 2024, as the team is 2-10 and near the bottom of the AFC through 13 games. The Raiders have lost eight consecutive games after a 2-2 start and have also lost five straight road games. Las Vegas will look to get back in the win column in Week 14 versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium.

Though the Raiders roster is subpar, head coach Antonio Pierce deserves a ton of criticism for Las Vegas’ disastrous season. Pierce has made many questionable clock management decisions this season and is also very conservative and unprepared in late-game situations.

The former NFL linebacker had some success as the Raiders interim head coach after the firing of Josh McDaniels in 2023, posting a 5-4 record in the final nine games of last year.

Though Pierce showed promise last season, he has been completely incompetent in 2024, and it’s evident the Raiders must move on from the California native and find a new head coach. There will be a plethora of intriguing candidates on the coaching market this offseason, but NFL Spin Zone’s Lou Scataglia believes Las Vegas will hire Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore to be the franchise’s next head coach.
