_Maryland Star Angel Reese Speaks Out: “Mental Health Support is Crucial”_
College Park, MD – University of Maryland basketball star Angel Reese is using her platform to advocate for mental health support.
In an exclusive interview, Reese emphasized the importance of prioritizing mental well-being, particularly for student-athletes.
“Mental health is just as vital as physical health,” Reese stated. “We need to create a safe space for athletes to discuss their struggles without fear of judgment.”
Reese’s comments come after her recent controversy surrounding comments about Taylor Swift fans.
“I realized that my words had an impact, and I want to use my voice for good,” Reese explained.
Reese is calling for:
1. Mandatory mental health workshops for student-athletes
2. Increased access to counseling services
3. Reduced stigma around mental health discussions
The University of Maryland Athletic Department has pledged to review Reese’s proposals.
“Angel’s voice matters, and we’re committed to supporting our students’ mental health,” said Athletic Director Damon Evans.
Reese’s advocacy has sparked a national conversation about mental health in sports.
“We can’t just focus on winning games; we need to prioritize our well-being,” Reese concluded.
