The Florida Gators are creating a new team identity under head coach Todd Golden. Instead, they’re tackling their defensive problems head-on, trying to match their high-scoring offense with better defense.Last season, the Gators were impressive on offense. They ranked 12th in the country in offensive efficiency and set a team record with 85.6 points per game. But their defense was weak, ranking 93rd in efficiency and last in the SEC in forcing turnovers. This weakness hurt them in the NCAA Tournament, where Colorado shot 63% and beat them 102-100 in the first round.
