De eerste clubwedstrijd van de zomer van Ricardo Pepi zal hem zeker vertrouwen geven om verder te gaan.
On Wednesday scoorde Pepi een hat trick tijdens PSV’s 3-2 thuiswedstrijd tegen FC Eindhoven. The United States men’s national team forward opened the scoring for Peter Bosz’s team before scoring the game-winning goal in stoppage time of the second half.
After threety minutes, Pepi’s close-range finish put the Eredivisie team ahead 1-0. Pepi finished off Hirving Lozano’s pass for his first summer goal.
In de laatste twintig minuten sloeg PSV op om de overwinning te behalen, ondanks het feit dat FC Eindhoven terugkwam met een 2-1 voorsprong.
Couhaib Driouech’s through ball pass in the 70th minute allowed Pepi to score his second goal of the day for a 2-2 scoreline.
Jason van Duiven was hauled down in the box in the 90th minute, providing Pepi with a late chance to win the match. Pepi stepped up and stoked home into the bottom-right corner for a 3-2 PSV victory.
Pepi speelde in alle vijf wedstrijden voor de USMNT deze zomer en heeft nu zijn eerste goals op het schema van PSV. PSV speelt een laatste vriendschappelijke wedstrijd tegen Valencia op zaterdag voorafgaand aan de wedstrijd in de Dutch Super Cup tegen Feyenoord op 4 augustus.
