Sabrina Carpenter has denied rumors that in order to participate in a campaign for Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS brand, she had to “ask for permission” from Taylor Swift.
Since Kim is currently one of Taylor’s worst foes, many fans were certain the petite pop diva had stabbed Tay Tay in the back. Furthermore, one would assume that Sabrina would behave herself given that she is a recent addition to Taylor’s circle of friends—she opened for the Eras Tour in Australia, Latin America and Singapore.
Even Taylor doesn’t seem to be over her battle with Kim, as evidenced by the song “thanK you aIMee” from her most recent album, which is widely speculated to be about the reality TV star. There’s even a passage mentioning how her devout mother wished for the subject’s demise. It is indeed dramatic. However, what more could you ask for in a Taylor Swift song?
In any case, Sabrina looked amazing in the SKIMS Valentine’s Day campaign, and she confirmed to Rolling Stone that Taylor wasn’t as upset as everyone thought. This was quickly warped, though, when supporters of X (previously Twitter) started saying absurd things like, “It’s crazy that you need permission to do a campaign,” and “[Sabrina is] such a lapdog.”

Sabrina has since refuted these fan ideas and referred to Taylor as one of her “best friends” in a profile article for Variety.
She exclaimed, “Taylor is a rock star,” but she also refuted the posts that said I should “ask for her permission.” She’s one of my closest pals, and we chat like you would with your best friend over dinner or over text messages.
