Joe Rothwell, a midfielder for Bournemouth, has joined Leeds United on a season-long loan.
When Southampton defeated the Whites in the Championship play-off final, the 29-year-old was on loan in the second tier with the Saints.
Before having stints with Oxford United and Blackburn, he began his career at Manchester United.
He told the club website, “It’s unbelievable, I was desperate to make it happen as soon as I heard about the interest.”
“To be honest, Leeds United is a huge football team; I don’t think it needs to be sold to anyone.”
“The club had a bit of bad luck the previous season, but returning to the Premier League is the main goal.”
