Additionally, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has acknowledged “contacts” regarding a potential trade for Isak, but he maintains that Chelsea cannot afford a deal this summer. In his Caught Offside column, Romano stated: “We’ve heard a lot of rumors about Alexander Isak and Chelsea, and from what I’ve been told, Chelsea are 100% aware of the situation with the Swedish striker – he is considered absolutely too expensive. Contacts with Newcastle have also been made.” As is already known, Nico Williams and Michael Olise were deemed excessively costly by Chelsea.

This summer, Chelsea has been linked to a number of players, including Nico Williams and Michael Olise. According to a story published yesterday, Newcastle United has instructed the Blues to “break the transfer record” in order to get Alexander Isak.

Isak is under contract with Newcastle for a long time, but they are currently considering internally offering him a new contract, therefore they would demand absurd amounts of money for him. There is now no movement because Eddie Howe and the owners want him to stay at the club. There are, of course, interest from many clubs, but nothing solid as it is assumed that he will stay at Newcastle.

“Isak wants to stay at Newcastle, so let’s see what happens with a potential new deal. For the time being, though, I wouldn’t put too much stock in any connections with Chelsea since it would be too costly for them and Newcastle views him as untouchable.

“However, Chelsea has notified Barcelona of their plan to activate Marc Guiu’s release clause, and as they have a contract with the player, the transaction is set to proceed. Chelsea made a strong move in selecting Guiu, and they are currently preparing the official documentation for the latter stages. This week, they are trying to pay the release clause; after that, Guiu will sign a long-term deal with Chelsea that will last until June 2030.

After that, Chelsea wants Guiu to remain at Stamford Bridge and play for Enzo Maresca’s first team. Guiu was keen to transfer, and the agreement is set to proceed shortly, even though Barcelona made an attempt to extend an offer to the midfielder.
