After capturing the Big 12 regular season championship on Sunday, Oklahoma will have three games to prepare for the postseason, which begins next weekend.
The Sooners will finish the regular season with a three-game road series against Cincinnati. The program for this weekend was changed on Wednesday due to expected rain.
The first two games of the series will be played as a doubleheader on Thursday, beginning at 1:30 p.m. The second game will begin approximately 45 minutes after the first game ends.
The last game is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Friday. All three games will be shown on ESPN Plus.
Who might the Sooners meet in the Big 12 tournament?
Oklahoma will receive a bye in the first round of the conference tournament since it is the top overall seed. Its opponent will be determined by the winner of the game between the No. 6 seed and the No. 7 seed, or the No. 4 seed and the No. 9 seed.
On Wednesday at 12:30 p.m., the Sooners will meet the winner of the two games with the lowest seeding.
As of now, Kansas is the sixth seed, TCU is the seventh seed, and UCF is the ninth seed. The Sooners are 6-0 versus those teams, including sweeps of UCF and TCU.
Still, there is one weekend of conference play left, and a lot can change during the next three games. Kansas, which hosts Texas this weekend, is within three games of the conference’s second best record and the tenth spot.
TCU is tied with Kansas State in the standings, one game ahead of two other teams. UCF is one of those teams, and it may make a significant jump depending on how the last weekend unfolds.
The competition has a modified double-elimination format. With three victories, the Sooners will have a chance to play for the championship.
Oklahoma appears to be on track to host an NCAA regional, and a strong performance in the Big 12 tournament might help it earn one of the top eight seeds.
