Recent Update: Falcons Set to Appoint Raheem Morris, Current Defensive Coordinator for the Rams, as Head Coach...

Headlines from Sports Illustrated’s network include topics such as SI Swimsuit, SI Sportsbook, SI Tickets, SI Showcase, and SI Resorts. The recent news involves the hiring and potential movement of Los Angeles Rams coaching staff.

The Los Angeles Rams, under coach Sean McVay, are accustomed to seeing their assistants leave for higher positions, and this offseason is no different. Defensive coordinator Raheem Morris has departed to become the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons, and quarterbacks coach Zac Robinson is following suit as the team’s offensive coordinator. Other coaches, like tight ends coach Nick Caley, have interviewed for positions elsewhere, hinting at potential additional departures.

The latest addition to the list of potential movers is pass game specialist Jake Peetz. NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reports that Peetz will interview for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ offensive coordinator role. Peetz, 39, previously served as an offensive assistant before being promoted to pass game specialist last season. Under his guidance, the Rams’ passing game significantly improved, moving from 27th in passing yards the previous season to 10th in the current one. Peetz, with almost a decade of NFL coaching experience, has worked with various teams, including the Jacksonville Jaguars, Washington Commanders, Las Vegas Raiders, and Carolina Panthers. Before joining the Rams, he was the offensive coordinator for the LSU Tigers in 2021.

This coaching shuffle comes as the Buccaneers search for a new offensive coordinator following Dave Canales’ departure to become the head coach of the Carolina Panthers. The Buccaneers had expressed interest in interviewing Robinson for the role, but due to his acceptance of the Falcons job, that opportunity did not materialize.
