Antonio Pierce, the newly appointed interim head coach for the Raiders, emphasized his commitment to fielding a team that brings pride to Raider Nation during his introductory press conference. Following the dismissal of Josh McDaniels, Pierce acknowledged the expectations associated with the Raiders franchise, highlighting the importance of Raider pride and a commitment to excellence. Expressing dissatisfaction with the current state of continuous losses, Pierce stated, “We’re tired of losing. It’s not a good feeling. We’re a production-based business.”
While changes were made to the coaching staff, including the firing of offensive coordinator Mick Lombardi, Pierce conveyed that the remaining staff is dedicated to their collective vision. He reassured that they are all on the same page and had a positive team meeting. Pierce will lead the team for the final nine games of the season, with Raiders owner Mark Davis planning a comprehensive coaching search after the season concludes.
