Micah DeBose, a top offensive lineman in the 2025 class, recently decommitted from Georgia, according to Hayes Fawcett of On3. Meanwhile, Ohio State football is reportedly looking to add more offensive linemen.
A number of top programs are interested in DeBose. The Buckeyes are interested, but Alabama and Auburn are also likely to make a push for DeBose. Almost every program in the country would love to add a potential star to their offensive line.
Markus Cook, DeBose’s head coach at Vigor High School, addressed the star offensive tackle’s decision, according to al.com.
“He is officially back open,” Cook declared. “He was still making visits and visiting schools.” He wasn’t just limited to one school. He’s looking for the best place to live. There are a lot of junior days ahead of us. It was the perfect time. We discussed it with his mother and stepfather, and everyone agreed that this was the best option.”
So, where will DeBose eventually commit? Cook believes Alabama and Auburn have a good chance, but he has not ruled out Ohio State football.
“When you are the No. 1 interior lineman in the nation, it’s a big decision obviously,” Cook told ESPN. “I personally believe it will be difficult for him to leave the state because having Auburn and Alabama in your backyard makes it difficult.” But LSU has a chance. Ohio State has a chance. He’ll make the best choice for himself.”
