Nuno Espirito Santo is being considered for the Nottingham Forest manager’s job if Steve Cooper is fired as a result of the team’s recent poor performance.
Nuno, who left Al-Ittihad earlier this year, was successful at Wolves between 2017 and 21. Despite a brief stint at Tottenham in 2021, he is a well-known figure, having previously managed FC Porto and Valencia.
Nottingham Forest’s struggles, with only one win in their last 13 games, may force Cooper to resign. Jorge Mendes, a Portuguese super agent, represents Nuno. According to the Daily Mail, former Eintracht Frankfurt coach Oliver Glasner is also being considered for the job.
Steve Cooper has done nothing short of extraordinary for Nottingham Forest. From taking over as manager when the Reds were in the Championship relegation zone in the 2021/22 season to guiding them to promotion via the play-offs the following season. Last season, Forest splashed the cash only to narrowly avoid relegation by four points, but this season they are five points ahead of Luton Town, who have a game in hand.
Forest are struggling with form, having won just one of their last 13 games, which has pushed them into relegation contention. They are preparing for their next home game against Bournemouth on Saturday, and a defeat could mean the end of Steve Cooper’s reign.
