The lineup of Leicester City at the King Power Stadium Enzo Maresca gave Patson Daka his first start, and it was his first since the victory over Wolves in April.
With Jamie Vardy and Kelechi Iheanacho out against Plymouth, Enzo Maresca has given Patson Daka his first Leicester City start.
At the King Power Stadium, Daka—the Zambian preferred over Tom Cannon—who was on the periphery of Maresca’s squad and almost left City during the summer transfer window—is called up to start. This season, Daka has played just two substitute games for a total of 20 minutes.
This is a huge chance for the striker, who made two appearances for City under Dean Smith in April, the last coming in a 2-1 victory over Wolves. His final club goal came in a 3-1 loss to Chelsea at home in March.
Seven City players are absent, including Vardy and Iheanacho, the latter of whom is reportedly ill. The other players not present are the injured Callum Doyle and suspended Ricardo Pereira, as well as the wingers Kasey McAteer, Yunus Akgun, and Wanya Marcal. Ben Nelson has also been called up, Tawanda Maswanhise has been included for the first time under Maresca, and Dennis Praet and Marc Albrighton have returned to the matchday squad as a result.

West Brom last week has undergone three changes overall. Abdul Fatawu replaces McAteer on the right side, Daka replaces Iheanacho up front, and Hamza Choudhury fills in for the suspended Ricardo in the hybrid position.
